A woman in Minnesota is receiving praise online after sharing a video in which she described herself leaving an establishment because of the crowd of Somalis she saw inside.

For a long time, there has been criticism directed at parts of the Somali community in Minnesota, with some online discussions referencing alleged fraud cases that have contributed to ongoing tensions. Following the recent video, reactions online have intensified, with some users expressing strong opinions about immigration and community presence.

Conservatives feel compassion for this woman having to watch her community being transformed by Somalians to the point of being unrecognizable. Liberals feel compassion for the foreigners and call this woman a racist.

In the video, the woman showed herself exiting an IHOP restaurant, saying she chose to leave based on the number of Somali people inside. As she walked out, the footage continued to show her point of view. After leaving the store, she mentioned wearing a “Proud to be American” hat only to find over 50 people of “[expletive] Somalis.”

She then added that the entire restaurant was allegedly filled with Somali customers. “I’m not racist, but that’s a takeover,” she said. The woman also claimed that two years ago there were fewer Somali people in the area than there are today. She further alleged that some customers inside the restaurant were giving her “dirty looks” because of her hat. After getting into her car, she continued filming and stated that there were more Somali people outside, saying, “I’m surrounded.” The video ended shortly after that.

Viewers Agree With Minnesota Woman’s Outrage

The video sparked reactions online. Many viewers agreed with how the Minnesota woman was upset that there were many Somalis at IHOP. “I agree with her. There is a political party and leaders that caused this. Traitors,” one person wrote. Another person said, “Humans have instincts that alert a person when their territory has been invaded by a hostile force. All of us are feeling it. Black, White, Hispanic, etc. We’re all Americans, and we’ll all have to work with each other to take our country back.”

More people expressed outrage over the video, with some comments taking a highly emotional and political tone. “How [expletive] we even got to the point were a whole Somalian community has literally created a country within country, Milking welfare, milking public spaces, milking empty spaces, milking public stores— free school, free health care, free houses‼! #Deport ilhan Omar and her colleagues and all ages ‼ Call me racist. I DO NOT GIVE A [expletive] ! MAKE #America great AGAIN with no apologies‼,” one person wrote.

The video led to broader conversations about immigration and demographic changes in the state. Additionally, it highlighted ongoing debate online about how people interpret and define concerns related to immigration and whether such views are viewed as discriminatory or not.
