Taking your kids into the store takes effort, especially when they’re young and want to wander. Sometimes you have to herd them like sheep. What you can’t and shouldn’t do is leave them in the vehicle, even if you’re only gone for a second. When one mother in Tennessee tried to do that, a couple of Good Samaritans wouldn’t let it slide.
Posted by TikTok user Jessie2quick (Jessie), she shared how the confrontation went down, which resulted in the mother having Karen-level meltdown. As the mother comes out of a local Kroger, Jessie immediately confronts her: “You left a 2-year-old in the car!” The video shows that multiple children were left unattended.
Jessie tries to talk some sense into the mother, telling her she stayed nearby to ensure the children’s protection and even called police. While this is happening, the mom tells Jessie to step away from her car. But Jessie refuses to move because she wants to see justice served and thinks this child could be in danger.
While Jessie is standing in the mother’s way, the angry Karen gets in her face. They tell her she shouldn’t have been shopping while “the kid was in the car.” Jessie continues to tell the woman she’s in the wrong, to which the mother ignores her and warns Jessie that she has a gun in the car. The woman keeps getting closer and closer before hitting Jessie, causing her to drop the phone.
In several updates, Jessie explains the woman hit her in the face when the video ended. Eventually, the Karen gets in her vehicle and flees the scene quickly. She’s driving far too fast for a parking lot and tries to make a getaway.
At the same time, the National Guard pulls up (allegedly assisting police in the area). You can hear Jessie and others screaming at the Guard to chase after this woman’s vehicle and pointing them in the right direction.
The Internet praises Jessie, ridicules the mother for poor parenting
On TikTok, people weren’t very forgiving of the mother leaving her kids unattended while she went shopping. Many ridiculed her for her appearance, while others gave Jessie props for stepping in.
“Thank you for protecting that child,” one TikTok viewer wrote. Another thanked Jessie for “advocating” for the kids.
A commenter scolded the mother for the way she acted, saying, “You is not in the right honey pie you is in the damn wrong 😭😭😭.” Few were on the mother’s side, though one commenter did tell Jessie, “Just mind ya business…”
Jessie gave a statement to the National Guard and police. She said they put out a felony warrant for the woman’s arrest. So far, Jessie hasn’t heard anything further about the woman or if she was arrested.
