When a California man’s mom had a bad experience at a medical spa, he decided to take action. His mom reportedly had a botched treatment and the company refused to take initiative and offer a refund. Because of this, he took matters into his own hands and arrived at their office to confront them.
Mani (@money_mani1) said that his mother had a “disappointing experience with Beauty Me MD.” His mom went to the medical spa to have a treatment and, as a result, her face was left “noticeably asymmetrical.” Because of this, she suffered emotional damage.
Mani and his mom contacted the office again and again, asking if she would be eligible for a full refund. Eventually, it sounded like they agreed. So, the pair went to Beauty Me in person. When they arrived, Mani said “the focus immediately shifted to obtaining photographs and signatures.” Mani felt like the company was taking advantage of his mom, who is a 60-year-old immigrant that doesn’t speak English.
Mani caught the interaction involving multiple employees on video. In the video, the employees are yelling at Mani and asking not to be recorded “without our consent.” Mani explains to them that they told him his mother “would receive a refund” but then just wanted to take pictures of his mom. He points to the doctor and says, “This one took a picture of my mother without her consent. Messed up her Botox.” Mani then takes his mom and walks her out of the office, pointing out the employees and telling her, “It’s okay.”
In the end, they allegedly didn’t offer a refund to her for the services they reportedly botched. According to Mani, the confrontation “gave us the impression that they were more concerned with protecting themselves than addressing what happened to my mother.” On top of that, he felt like staff was “hostile” and “bullying” his mom after what happened to her.
The video immediately sparked reactions from commenters online. One commenter quipped, “About to schedule a ton of appointments and no show.” Some commenters offered advice to Mani and his mother about how they can proceed. One stated, “Get an attorney. Their first mistake was NOT letting her know how much was gonna be put in her face beforehand.”
Others shared that they left poor reviews on Beauty Me MD’s page and Google. One commented, “I have made a yelp review” and showed that she rated them 1 star. Over the past day since Mani’s video, their reviews have dropped significantly on Google. Commenters continue to tell Mani to take action after his mother was disrespected and treated poorly. As one mentioned, “Report to the medical board and Better Business Bureau.”
