An Amazon Flex driver in Missouri was in a hurry, so much so that he couldn’t be bothered to turn around at the end of a recipient’s driveway. Instead, he decided that the pristinely kept lawn was the ideal place to perform a two-point turn. Needless to say, the homeowner wasn’t happy; aside from the obvious tire marks in the grass, his front porch security camera caught the driver in the act.
Going by the username Paymee_Money on Reddit, the Amazon package recipient uploaded security cam footage to multiple subreddits. This would ensure the culprit who ruined his grass had been thoroughly shamed online. On r/Wellthatsucks and other posts, OP used the headline, “Amazon Strikes Again, My House Today.”
He continued, saying, “What is wrong with people? There is a huge area directly in front of him he could’ve turned around in.” He posted a photo of the ‘huge area’ he spoke of in the comment section, and it indeed looked spacious enough for a comfortable U-turn.
The cherry on top was how the Amazon Flex driver ran out of his poorly parked car to chuck the package onto the porch, which many believed to be simple carelessness. “I was surprised both times that they actually got out of the car. Why 3/4-[expletive] it when you could half-[expletive it by frisbeeing it out the window?” questioned a user.
Redditors Collectively Dragged the Missouri Amazon Flex Driver for His Inconsiderate Behavior
That said, thousands of Redditors across the subreddits OP posted the clip on shared a similar sentiment: Why was this man working as a Flex driver? “I might be out of the loop, but does Amazon nowadays hire random people to deliver packages in their private cars?” remarked a commenter. Others chimed in, explaining how Amazon hires unvetted individuals as private company contractors to avoid liability for damages, resulting in situations like this.
While a few questioned the awkward layout of Paymee_Money and the narrow driveway up to his home, he explained that he had gone out of his way to ensure delivery drivers knew what to do. “We have a message that says careful when backing up, please stay off the lawn. It also says to place a package in the plastic box on the front porch, not frisbee from 10 feet away to have it land right in front of the box,” he wrote vehemently.
Paymee_Money doesn’t seem like he’s taking the reckless driver’s behavior sitting down. Claiming to be an Amazon driver himself, he said that he’ll “be looking for him at the warehouse.” Threatening statement aside, he added that he and his wife had already reported the Flex driver, though they doubt much will come from it.
