Two Airbnb hosts living in West Virginia were met with quite the surprise after discovering one of their properties had been vandalized. Someone had recklessly driven their car and done donuts all across their lawn, spreading dirt and grass all over the home. The video includes the damage caused by the vehicle as well as the reckless behavior of the driver involved. Commenters shared their frustrations in the replies section below the video, and the original poster hoped someone online might shed light on the vehicle’s driver.
The video above was posted to an account that follows a family and the various Airbnbs they host across West Virginia. For the most part, it appears that the guests they host haven’t been a problem, especially given that most of the content on the page focuses on how they handle specific issues.
In this instance, the family had been notified about the incident by a neighbor. According to camera footage from the host’s personal security system, the driver came through in a side-by-side at about 3:40 am and left at about 3:52, driving through several other yards.
Because of the donuts being made, the dirt and grass on the lawns were kicked up in muddy patches, hitting the front exterior of different homes. Allegedly, the hosts also had guests staying in that home when the incident happened. When speaking with law enforcement, you can hear the hosts say, “We’re pressing charges.”
As a result of this particular video going viral, the hosts were able to assist law enforcement in finding the individuals responsible for the damage. Allegedly, two men were drinking at a nearby bar and decided to tear up people’s yards for fun. According to the woman who posted the video, the man was not arrested but is required to turn himself in within the next few days.
