An Ohio TikToker’s giveaway outside a Walmart took an unexpected turn when a bystander called the police while he was handing out cash, gift cards, and paying for groceries and gas.

Content creator Damon Darling shared the encounter in a video that shows him meeting shoppers from the trunk of his car.

Throughout the video, he gives away money, surprises people with gift cards, offers to fill up gas tanks, and talks with families and children. Many thank him for his kindness.

The mood changed when a man approached Darling and said he was calling the police because of the giveaway.

“Call the police on me. Why? No, I’m not trespassing,” Darling replied. “I’m just helping people, being positive.”

As the conversation continued, the man told him, “Do nice things somewhere else.”

The Ohio TikToker then asked why his actions were bothering him.

“Does it irritate you that I’m being nice to people? That I’m trying to do something?” he asked. “I’m almost done. I’m gonna finish blessing these people here, and then I’ll leave.”

He then added, “Only hate here. No kindness on his watch.”

Despite the confrontation, Darling kept giving away money. He handed several shoppers $40 each before deciding to end the event.

“I gotta hurry because he’s calling the feds on me,” he joked. Darling said he planned to leave after learning that police had been called.

“They called the cops on me for being nice,” he said.

Before leaving, Darling continued helping strangers. He offered to pay for one woman’s gas and surprised her with a $300 gas gift card.

The woman appeared shocked by the gift. Other shoppers recognized Darling from his videos and thanked him for his kindness.

Internet Reacts to Ohio TikToker’s Walmart Confrontation

Reactions online leaned heavily in Darling’s favor, with commenters mocking the bystander’s response to the giveaway.

One commenter wrote, “How dare he be nice and give away free things!” Another praised how Darling handled the moment: “I loved how he handled the situation, make the guy look even stupider.”

A third commenter said, “Imagine being mad about someone helping others.”

Someone else questioned the bystander’s motives directly: “Why on earth does that irritates him to the extent of calling the cop.” A fifth commenter offered a lighter take: “bro must be fun at parties.”

The nearly three-minute video ends with Darling leaving the Walmart parking lot after completing several more giveaways. He stayed positive despite the confrontation.

It’s worth noting that Darling has a history with Walmart. He was previously given a lifetime trespass ban from Walmart, Sam’s Club, and Murphy USA locations in Xenia, Ohio, after filming a similar giveaway there.
