This Caribbean adventure might feel similar to some, but the truth is that Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced brings many new things for the most daring captains out there, and one of those is a selection of new Naval Officers. These new crew members come with their own narrative, missions, and even skills that will help your Jackdaw. Since they are a must-have in this remake, here’s a guide on how to unlock each one so you can recruit them as soon as possible.
How to Recruit All Naval Officers in Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced
For the unaware, there are three new Naval Officers in Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced: The Padre, Lucy Baldwin, and Tobias Smith. Now, for the first two, you need to meet the following requirements:
- Complete the “This Old Cove” mission by speaking to Adéwalé.
- Track the quest “A Second Chance” for The Padre.
- Track the quest “A Proper Shipwright” for Lucy.
Both of these Naval Officers will have their own quest chains. For The Padre, just head to Punta del Caracol and start his mission. After completing it, he will become part of the crew. For Lucy, you need to find a prisoner ship near Salt Key Banks and free her. After that, complete her quests, and she’ll join the Jackdaw.
The Padre will unlock a new ramming skill that you can perform by pressing L1+R1 while on the Jackdaw, and Lucy will unlock a passive skill that reduces damage from enemy ships if you time your “brace” when projectiles hit.
Now, the third Naval Officer in Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced, which is Tobias Smith, requires a bit more work and for you to progress through the story further. These are the requirements you must meet:
- Complete the mission “Everything is Permitted.”
- Unlock and complete the new endgame mission “A World Without Gold: I Just Want to Talk.”
- Head to Great Inagua and track the mission “No Box Dark Enough.”
Just like Lucy and The Padre, Tobias will also bring a new passive skill to the Jackdaw, which will give your Mortar a secondary firing mode.
While all Naval Officers have long questlines, remember that you don’t need to complete each one to recruit them. Usually, they will join your crew after a couple of quests, and some missions will unlock later as you progress through the story. So, make sure to add them to your Jackdaw as soon as you see them pop up on the map.
