When one adventure ends, another begins, and the former is happening to Assassin’s Creed Shadows. After several post-launch updates, a massive DLC, and many things to discover, our two protagonists are hanging up the rope and blades, but not before going on one last ride. Assassin’s Creed Shadows is launching its final update that brings the true ending, which seems to tie things with other installments in the series, but also adds a brand-new endgame mode for those looking forward to trying their builds in a more challenging environment.
The Final Update of Assassin’s Creed Shadows Launches on June 16
Today, Ubisoft announced that Assassin’s Creed Shadows will be getting its final update on June 16. This update will add the new free story quest called Black Tides. In it, Naoe and Yasuke will have to face a group of Templars called “Black Cross.” It seems that this story will lead to the game’s true ending and tie things up with other games, as we saw from the trailer. Also, players don’t need to purchase anything to experience it. You only need to complete the protagonists’ stories and the “A Critical Encounter” and “A Puzzlement” quests, which are also free for all.
In terms of gameplay, we are getting the Domains endgame mode. Here, players can try out their builds in various simulations featuring several combat challenges. There will also be a lot of cosmetic rewards tied to it, all free for anyone jumping into the update. Keen-eyed assassins will spot some familiar weapons belonging to iconic characters from the series, so it is a good time to start grinding for some potential crossover cosplay.
Speaking of crossovers, Assassin’s Creed Shadows and Black Flag Resynced are having a crossover of sorts. You’ll be able to work on a new Project that will reward Yasuke and Naoe with Black Flag-themed cosmetics. But that’s not all. You’ll also be able to unlock Shadows-themed cosmetics for Edward when the remake launches on July 9. And you don’t have to wait until Resynced gets here—you can start earning those cosmetics as soon as the update goes live.
After this, however, Naoe and Yasuke will go their separate ways, and we’ll take our robes into a more tropical adventure. Remember that Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced launches on July 9, and you can pre-order it right now.
