The paperwork is signed in Tennessee, and the most talkative divorcing couple in country music is now contractually barred from saying a bad word about each other.
Jelly Roll and Bunnie XO have officially settled their divorce, according to court documents obtained by TMZ. The exes reached a deal earlier this month, closing out a marriage that began in 2016 and a split that has played out almost entirely in public since the singer filed in Williamson County back in May.
The financial terms are sealed, but the broad strokes are visible in the filings. The pair are dividing an aircraft, cars, homes, and their intellectual properties. Jelly Roll, 41, owes Bunnie, 46, a one-time lump sum payment of a confidential amount, and neither side will be fighting over alimony in court.
Then there is the clause that makes this settlement so unusual for these two: the agreement bars either of them from trash-talking the other. For a couple whose breakup has been narrated from a podcast microphone and a concert stage, a legally binding vow of niceness is a genuine plot twist.
Not that either seemed inclined to swing. Bunnie previously said Jelly Roll agreed to hand her the family compound they had been building “because he knows how special it is to me,” and she joked about his generosity in a since-deleted episode of her Dumb Blonde podcast. “Well, you didn’t take care of me in the marriage, but you’re taking care of me in the divorce,” she quipped. At a concert in June, the singer told his crowd simply that he and his wife were best friends.
The strangest part of the arrangement has nothing to do with property. Despite the divorce, the two say they intend to become parents together through surrogacy, a plan Bunnie confirmed on the same deleted episode. “We’re still having a baby together,” she said.
That decision follows a long and painful road. Bunnie has spoken openly about the couple’s IVF journey, including the loss of four embryos across nearly two years of treatment, an experience she described as something that trauma-bonded them rather than pulled them apart. The two will also continue co-parenting Jelly Roll’s children, daughter Bailee Ann, 18, and son Noah, 9, from his previous relationships.
Fans Cannot Get Over How Fast It Was Over
On X, the first reaction was pure whiplash at the timeline. “This is the quickest divorce ever finalized damn,” one user posted, two months after the filing first became public.
From there, the asset list did the rest of the work. “Aircraft? This man is making too much money if he’s got a PJ,” one commenter marveled, while another zeroed in on the one property everybody wanted accounted for: “Who gets the bar in Nashville?“
Others skipped the inventory entirely. “Divorce is never easy, no matter how public or private your life is,” one wrote.
Representatives for both did not comment on the settlement when contacted by E! News.
So the assets are split, the lawyers are done, and the trash talk is officially off the table. The baby, apparently, is still on.
