Dallas TikTok creator Amber (@ambergerss) said the incident happened during an early hike with the man she is now dating. According to her video, the two were jogging when he repeatedly ran ahead, leaving her behind on the trail.

When Amber finally caught up with him inside a tunnel, he looked at her and said, “This is where I was gonna kill you.” Realizing she was recording, he immediately added, “OMG, did you record that? I was just kidding.“

Amber also captioned the video that it was, “The moment where I wasn’t sure I’d see my parents again,” though she seemed to be convinced that her date wasn’t serious with the remarks. “He was just joking, lighten up,” writes Amber.

As for the status of the relationship, it appears Amber is still dating the man. Amber’s video has blown up and now has millions of views across multiple social media platforms. Most of the comments were warning her that she needs to be more careful, with some even advising her to break up with him.

Viewers Warned Texas Woman About Staying in the Relationship

Some people had to point out some signs that worried them further, such as, “Notice how he said he was joking when you was aware you were recording,” while others recalled similar experiences, “the boyfriend I had that loved to joke about killing me…. did in fact try to kill me.”

Others seriously warned Amber, writing, “He took you to a location that you don’t know, showed that he can outlast you while running AND threatened to kill you? You need to get pepper gel spray and make a police report. He’s making a plan to get you.” The backlash against Amber’s boyfriend apparently got so bad, she had to post several follow-up videos clarifying that his joke about killing her was, well, just a joke.

Amber clarified in follow-up captions that “It wasn’t our first hike, I’m ok. He’s also one of the kindest man I’ve ever met.” Despite Amber’s repeated assurances that her boyfriend was joking and that she feels safe, many viewers remained unconvinced, arguing that the circumstances surrounding the comment were just as unsettling as the remark itself.
