A North Carolina Taco Bell manager and her cousin watched a man leave his trash on the ground outside the restaurant. She decided to call him out on his littering instead of letting it go. Unfortunately, this led to a verbally violent altercation that left the women feeling terrified.
TikToker @icedchailiteice said her cousin and her were at Taco Bell when they watched a man littering outside. The cousin, a Taco Bell manager, decided to confront him about his behavior by politely asking him to pick it up. His reaction, however, astonished both the women. In her video, the man walks up to both of them, screaming in their faces as he lugs around his Taco bell garbage. He accuses them of “antagonizing people” and says that it’s not littering until he “drives away.” He then loudly curses in their faces, despite them telling him that he’s in their “personal space.”
The man tells the women that he wasn’t littering and doesn’t move to get out of her way. At this point, @icedchailiteice pulls out her firearm that she had with her in her vehicle. He backs up and asks her why she would do that. She says, “You’re in my face! I’m a female; I have to protect myself.” When she gets in her vehicle, he walks back over to her and screams at her again. He then pulls out the, “You know what are stereotypes? You people are all [expletive] stereotypes.” He then walks to the trashcan and throws his trash away.
The women and the litterer fight back-and-forth with each other, with the TikToker telling him he’s “ignorant.” She then calls him a “demon” and tells him to leave in his work truck. He turns away from her to walk back to his vehicle, glaring at her the entire way. It’s at this point that the recording ends, so it isn’t clear how this confrontation ended.
The video sparked reactions, with many people taking the recorder’s side for how she was treated by the man. As one commenter pointed out, “’You people’ because she asked him not to litter.” Another commenter stated, “She’s antagonizing, yet he’s a grown man yelling in a woman’s face. I hope she’s okay!” One commenter added, “Exactly why women need self-defense classes and carry.” Commenters continue to share their reactions and opinions on the video as it gains popularity.
