An absolutely shocking scene of a car covered with junk driving in Milpitas, California. Whether mental illness or a very elaborate means of being frugal, what this driver is doing is clearly a huge risk. That said, no one had to tell San Jose resident GodLovesUglySong twice that others needed to be warned of this dangerous driver. He shared photos of the unbelievable scene on r/SanJose under a post title questioning if driving around with blind peripherals is legal.

This can't be legal.

“I cannot believe they drive with all that on,” remarked GodLovesUglySong. Several call the vehicle the “Katamari car,” referring to a cute Japanese game franchise involving rolling around miscellaneous items, creating a ‘snowball’ of junk.

OP wasn’t the only one who saw this driver going around with his very obvious mound of stuff on his car. Posts of the man have circulated on Instagram, YouTube, and other subreddits.

“Zero chance this is legal and even less of a chance cops haven’t seen this and just let him keep cruising,” wrote a Redditor. “Suspension putting in some major work,” pointed out another.

A good handful of people simply admired the driver for putting in the effort to pull something like this off. “That’s impressive,” remarked a commenter. “Really. I was thinking if there was a contest for such things, they would likely be a winner!!” another exclaimed in response.

There were a few who criticized GodLovesUglySong for putting someone with alleged mental issues on blast online. To this, OP replied, “This is dangerous for other drivers and pedestrians. I have video of the front of the car too and the entire inside is filled to the brim with trash. So much so, that they can barely see out of their windows.”

Based on when other posts of this hoarding driver were posted, this man has been driving like this for well over a month and possibly longer. Whether the police get involved remains to be seen, though anyone driving near the vehicular monstrosity is sure to be extra cautious in case a bag of junk flies off and hits them.
