Outrage erupted online after a California man was filmed repeatedly using a racial slur against a Popeyes manager because his order had not yet been prepared.
A customer inside the restaurant filmed the confrontation as the man argued with the manager about allegedly waiting 30 minutes for “some chicken.” He then began cursing at the manager and repeatedly used the N-word against him, prompting the manager to curse back at the man.
The man repeated the racial slur while knocking his hand against the glass wall separating him from the manager. He told the manager that he was lucky the wall was there or he would have attacked him. The confrontation continued escalating as the man cursed at the manager and demanded that he help the employee preparing the chicken. “Who made you manager?” he asked.
The manager appeared to tell the man that he would refund his order because of his behavior. The man refused and instead demanded that the manager put his order in the bag. The two continued arguing, with the man once again using the same racial slur. In response, the manager asked him to be patient.
The rest of the video included the man repeatedly using racial slurs and threatening to report the manager to corporate. He also mocked the manager for working at Popeyes as the argument continued. The confrontation eventually ended with the man threatening to wait for the manager outside after his shift. It is unclear what happened afterward or whether the situation escalated further.
Viewers Outraged Over California Man’s Repeated Use of Racial Slur
The video sparked reactions online. Many viewers expressed outrage over the California man’s repeated use of racial slurs against the manager, with some arguing that his behavior warranted legal consequences. “He should be arrested,” one person wrote. Another commenter questioned what crime the man had committed, saying, “What crime did he commit. I haven’t seen anything tossed or damaged yet. I get he probably shouldn’t have said the N word but unlike many other videos, there is no damaging of property has occurred or assault on anybody.”
Several viewers continued calling for the man to face consequences, particularly over the alleged threat he made toward the manager. “He literally threatened him saying he was going to wait until he gets off and ‘has something for him.’ Be fr,” one person wrote. Another commenter criticized the man’s treatment of the restaurant employees, saying, “Being rude to service workers or people making your food is BEYOND me… distasteful fr.”
The video sparked a conversation about how customers should not resort to racial slurs or threats simply because their orders are delayed. It also led to broader discussion about the importance of treating restaurant employees with respect and recognizing the pressure they can face while serving customers, even when mistakes or delays occur.
