A man decided to rent an Airbnb in Hemphill, Texas, and was soon surprised by a very unusual sight. He spotted what was described as a stream of water similar to that of a creek on the AC vents located on the floor. Viewers were concerned, believing it was a major health hazard.
Zack Hall shared his bizarre finding on TikTok. He is a content creator who, in the past, has shared his encounters with a bunch of creatures in the wild. This time around, he decided to book an Airbnb at Toledo Bend Lake. The clip attached above went viral, garnering 6.7 million views, 343,000 likes, and more than 9,700 comments.
Once he stepped inside the Texas Airbnb, he soon came across a particularly familiar sound, given his experience in the wild: running water. Then, as the video shows, the man spotted the AC vents located on the floor. Water was, in fact, running, as if it were a creek.
In total, Zack showed four different vents. The water was running through all of them. He said, “Pretty wild, if you ask me.” And arguably, it was.
In a follow-up clip, Zach explained that he had immediately messaged the Airbnb owner as soon as he found the creek-like AC vents. He told her that condensation or rainwater might have made its way into the vents. The owner responded, “Yes. It’s condensed, but it’s ok to run the unit.”
“I feel like she just didn’t understand the gravity of the situation or genuinely care. I don’t know. It’s her camp on the lake. They’re making some money off of it. Written out to goobers like me,” the man said.
Social Media Reactions
The AC vents sparked multiple reactions online, mostly from viewers who deemed them a health hazard. One said, “I can smell the Legionnaires’ disease through the phone.” This refers to a severe type of pneumonia caused by inhaling water droplets from contaminated sources. Another one commented, “Legionnaires’ disease…look it up and get your money back!“
Others, while keeping their comments lighthearted, still found the AC water odd, to say the least. One wrote, “Cooling their home like a data center.” Another one added, “That’s a creek, you gotta be quiet.”
In the end, Zach ended up staying two nights at the Texas Airbnb. He left a three-star review and admitted that the floors were chilly thanks to the vents.
