A woman in Dallas, Texas, got her cat from Craigslist. While she is completely in love with the little guy, she found that he was completely unbothered by anything, including shower water, something unfathomable for most house felines. As a result, the cat in question showers with her every single day.
Makayla Evans, also known as Ballet Blondie, shared her cat’s unique personality online. She is a very popular content creator who shares dancing, lifestyle, and, lately, cat-related clips. In just a few days, however, the clip in question became one of her most viral, garnering 14.6 million views, 2.3 million likes, and 12,000 comments.
Labeling her furry buddy “the most desensitized cat from Craigslist,” the Texas woman wished that she could be as unbothered as he was. The black cat, meanwhile, was in an almost catatonic state, lying face up, belly exposed, on one of the woman’s shoulders.
To demonstrate this, Makayla jumped in the shower while carrying the Craigslist cat and with the water running.
“This is our daily routine. Craigslist kitty has, like, no fear of water, and he’s a stage 5 clinger,” she said. “He sleeps on my face every night, and he showers with me every single day.”
Makayla then proceeded to wet her cat’s tail with the shower water. The cat didn’t react at all. Then, she completely soaked him, and the feline’s only reaction was to groom himself.
“You’re one add fella, Craigslist kitty,” the woman said before turning the shower off. “And now he’s sad that it’s off,” she added. Then, she began moving the cat in every direction and angle. Again, the cat acted nonchalant.
Craigslist Cat Becomes A Sensation
The video sparked multiple responses.
Given the cat’s null reaction to the shower water, many users lightheartedly joked in the comments section. One viewer asked, “Does he know he exists?” Another one commented, “What dose of lexapro is he on??“
Other users continued having a blast with the cat’s behavior, even mentioning their own cats. One user, sharing a pic of their kitty, said, “My cat watches me in the shower but will not come in.” Another one added, “He’s an orange cat, using a black cat filter.”
In an update, Makayla shared that she recently found out that her Craigslist cat was actually a female. Then, acknowledging that she is now more famous than her, got her some toys.
