In the video, House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries of New York appears on stage in conversation during the National Association of Black Journalists convention in Atlanta. He states, “In my view, dramatic Supreme Court reform is necessary,” and continues that “there’s a variety of different options that are on the table, and I think that we can’t foreclose any single one of them.” He also describes the court’s conservative majority as having “become, basically, a subsidiary of the MAGA Republican Party.”

Jeffries indicates that any reform effort would be led by Democrats on the Judiciary Committee, specifically naming Rep. Jamie Raskin. The footage does not show the full context of the discussion before or after these remarks, nor does it include responses from others on stage.

Public Feedback on the Supreme Court Overhaul Statements

Some users expressed concern about the implications, with one writing, “This is serious. Democrats openly leaving radical Supreme Court changes on the table should concern every American. Protect judicial independence!”

Another commented, “When he says ‘reform,’ he means adding more socialist radicals than conservatives.”

Others focused on the intent behind the statements. One reply said, “So he wants to destroy the Constitution? Got it!” while another stated, “Lying his *expletive* off, he has said multiple times that they want to pack the courts.”

A further comment read, “These totalitarians must be stopped. Vote accordingly,” and another observed, “Yet, they claim they are trying to defend Democracy. All of their policies want to destroy it.”

The clip continues to circulate on X as part of the broader online discussion surrounding potential changes to the Supreme Court ahead of the midterm elections.
