A woman in Indiana called out her “engineer” husband for writing a school note for their son that she considered inadequate. She decided to show the note online, mockingly, and was immediately called out herself by the internet.

Alexa Schweitzer, the woman in question, shared the now-viral clip on TikTok. She is a content creator who shares family content alongside her husband and their son. The video attached above quickly became one of her biggest, garnering 1.3 million views, 80,300 likes, and more than 7,800 comments.

The Indiana woman started by saying that she had gotten into an argument with her husband over school notes for their son. She held both of them and was ready to discuss the contents of each of their notes with the internet, which was probably her first mistake.

After disclosing that her husband was an engineer and that it was their six-year-old child who asked for the notes, she read them both.

Her note read, “I hope you’re sailing through the day.” Alexa’s note came with a sailboat drawing, as well as the waves, the sun, and a little heart.

The father’s note, meanwhile, read, “I hope you’re having an awesome day at school. Love, Dad.” The drawing was accompanied by a cube drawing and a message pointing at it, which read, “It’s a cube!“

Note Criticism

Alexa questioned her husband about the meaning of his note and drawing. He just said, “He’s gonna think it’s so cool that there’s a cube on his paper.” She clapped back, saying that a teacher would read the note to their son, and asked him to change his note, which led to the verbal fight.

“I know I probably hurt his feelings by saying that and, like, making his note feel like it wasn’t good. And it is a good note. It’s a great note,” the woman said.

Backlash immediately followed that first clip, and Alexa kept doubling down from then on. In a follow-up, she said that she didn’t think her husband was putting enough effort into the note. According to her, she explained that her “expectations” of him are pretty high because he is a very involved father.

Reactions

Neither clip was well received by most viewers, who called Alexa out for her opinions on the note. One asked, “Do you hate your husband?” Another one commented, “Showing this to my husband so he knows it could be worse.”

Others were adamant about telling the Indiana woman’s husband that he could do much better. One wrote, “I hope he finds his dream woman one day.” Another one added, “Let us know when he’s single.”

In a third clip, the woman jokingly told her husband to give her the divorce papers. She also gifted him a drawing of a cube inside a homemade cube. The cube had legs, arms, and a face, and she said, “This is all I wanted. This is all I wanted out of the note.”
