A woman passing by the shop noticed what appeared to be the employee washing his feet inside the kitchen and began filming. The video showed the employee standing in front of a sink on what appeared to be a prayer rug.
The employee was seen repeatedly washing his feet, using his hand to collect water from the sink before applying it to his feet several times. No other employees appeared to intervene while the woman filmed the incident. She eventually walked away, calling the situation “disgusting.” It is unclear whether the company will respond to the video or take any action.
Many viewers assumed that the employee was Muslim because washing the feet in this manner is associated with wudu, the Islamic ritual of purification performed before prayer.
