A California woman is facing heavy criticism online after filming herself modeling an outfit inside what appears to be an empty classroom. Critics are questioning whether the video is simply a fashion post or an inappropriate display filmed on one of the most important days of the school year.
The roughly 18-second video shows the woman standing among rows of student desks, in front of a whiteboard and classroom decorations. She appears to be filming a “Today’s Teacher Fit” or “Outfit of the Day” video.
She is wearing a white dress covered in colorful food prints, including hot dogs, fruit and cans. The outfit also features puffy sleeves, a wide black belt, a purple pleated underskirt, purple tights and black lace-up boots. Her dark hair is styled with bangs, and she has dramatic eye makeup, including what appears to be purple or star-patterned contact lenses.
According to the X account that posted the clip, the woman teaches at a school in Long Beach, California.
Throughout the video, she poses for the camera and makes different gestures. She points, moves her arms, and kicks one leg into the air, making her skirt flare out. She also adjusts her dress and belt, shows off a green shoulder bag, turns around, and walks a short distance. At the end, she poses with her hands on her hips.
There is no teaching, lesson content, or interaction with students shown in the video. Instead, the footage focuses entirely on the woman’s outfit while she is inside what appears to be a working classroom.
The video was reshared by X user @HistorianUSA1, who criticized the clip as unprofessional. The Daily Dot also reported on the video but said it could not independently confirm the woman’s identity, whether she works as a teacher, or the exact circumstances behind the recording.
Internet Reacts to California Teacher’s Classroom OOTD Video
The clip sparked immediate criticism online, with viewers questioning whether a classroom is an appropriate place to film a fashion showcase at all.
Several commenters focused specifically on the idea that schools need clearer standards. “Teachers should have dress codes and this should not be allowed,” one commenter wrote. Another pushed the point further with a jab at the woman’s makeup, writing, “She’s dressed like she’s going to a rave with those freaky *expletive* contacts smh this is absurd!” A third commenter took a more pointed stance on style versus function, asking, “Why is she dressed like a student going to school and not a teacher going to work?”
Other reactions veered into broader arguments about public education.
One commenter framed the video as evidence of a changing school system, writing, “My kids went to public school 2023 and before. Thank God that they never had to encounter these kind of disgraceful acts in class by teachers!” Another went further, tying the clip to a larger claim about the teaching workforce: “This is what happens when you run off actual teachers. You replace them with these sickos who are not there to teach but are there to indoctrinate your children!”
Most public school districts, including those in California, have some type of staff dress code or professional appearance policy. However, the rules and how strictly they are enforced can vary widely between districts and are often left to individual school administrators.
