Conservative influencer Tim Pool from West Virginia is going viral after walking out of a rather heated debate show, but not before making some rather worrying claims. During the debate, Pool was questioned on whether he voted for the Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency to essentially murder American citizens, to which he agreed, sparking even more criticism.
The debate series, called Surrounded by Jubilee, pits the conservative Tim Pool against 20 “progressives” who were there to challenge his views. One of them, David Mauricio, sat down and wanted Pool to clarify whether he was saying, “White supremacists voted for Donald Trump so they could kill migrants?” Pool replied with an adamant “Yes.”
“Ok good to know that White supremacists make up part of the Republican Party…” replies Mauricio. The discussion eventually went into what exactly the Republicans voted for when it came to ICE, something Pool’s opponent wanted to clarify, asking, “They voted for ICE to kill American citizens? Really?” Pool replied with another quick “Yes.”
The clip quickly went viral after being shared on Reddit, accumulating more than 4,000 upvotes in less than a day, with many people further questioning Pool’s beliefs. ICE, for the record, enforces federal laws governing border control, customs, trade, and immigration to promote homeland security and public safety, and they are not authorized to kill American citizens. Still, that didn’t stop ICE agents and their raids from causing the deaths of 57 people in total.
Pool walked off several times
It’s worth noting that the exchange with Mauricio was only a small segment of the Surrounded debate, and Pool also had other heated discussions with the other participants, where he also walked off in some of them. People online also chimed in on the discussion, calling out Pool and fixating on his opinions on what ICE should be doing.
“If he believes that people want ICE to kill American citizens, than there isn’t hope for society,” points out one TikTok commenter. Some gave Pool the benefit of the doubt, believing that he only spoke the truth about “Republicans,” with comments such as “Okay but wait pim tool is actually 100% correct. Of course many republican voters want to see violence done apon migrants.”
Others dug up Tim Pool’s past associations in the past and claimed he took money from the Russian government, “Tim Pool accepted money from Russia in exchange for him saying whatever they wanted. If you listen to Tim Pool you have been conned,” with another saying, “This is the man who was found out to be getting paid by the Kremlin to spew pro Russian [expletive].” In any case, Pool’s appearance in Surrounded has fueled a larger debate regarding immigration rights and the legality of ICE.
