‘How Evil Is That if True’: Missouri Resident Says Repair Company’s Flyer Left Even More Damage on Mom’s Hail-Battered Car

Quite the unacceptable way to advertise

Sometimes, it feels like unlucky things just happen in tandem, though one Missouri resident feels as though some damage to their mother’s car wasn’t by pure coincidence. According to his post on r/Wellthatsucks, Reddit user Boxler3 says his mom’s vehicle had taken a beating from a hailstorm. However, if that wasn’t bad enough, a business’s repair flyer ad topped things off by messing up the car’s paint.

My mom's car got hail damage and then the next day, someone left a flyer on her car to fix it that got wet and messed up her paint

Boxler3 explained that the post shows him snapping a photo of the side of his mom’s car, with the bottom being a cropped image of the flyer. Apparently, it was placed on the window, but it rained shortly after. Now, he claims the flyer became stuck to the paint of the car and wouldn’t come off when removing it with his fingernails.

“The flyer only damaged the driver side door. The hail got the rest of the car real good,” remarked Boxler3, and plenty of Redditors sympathized with his situation. “That’s a double whammy for sure, poor car!” exclaimed a person. “Advertising came via hail. The cycle continues,” sighed another.

“Creating the problem to sell the solution—top-tier business model,” wrote a third. “Scum. Trying to profit off someone’s misfortune,” growled a fourth.

If the flyer really damaged the car as Boxler3 said, one person suggested that he take the company to small claims court since the business left “hard evidence,” after all. However, upon looking more into it, OP doesn’t think it’ll be that easy.

The Son Accuses The Flyer’s Repair Company of Being a Possible Scam

“Upon searching their company, nothing came up,” he explained. Boxler3 continued, adding how he looked up this hail damage repair business’s phone number only to find a WhatsApp number with a “completely different area code.” The company also had an Instagram page with a small following and a few posts, but Boxler3 wasn’t convinced.

“I’m thinking this might also not even be a real company and could just be a scam preying on people’s misfortune,” he supposed. “How evil is that if true.” On top of the alleged misspellings on the flyer, OP believes this all might be a “scam preying on vulnerable people.”

Still, even if that were true, this alleged scammer certainly hasn’t convinced Boxler3 that it can help his mom’s car, especially after adding to the problems caused by the hail damage. No better way to leave a bad impression on their part.
