And now you can go anywhere

There are a ton of places to go in The Blood of Dawnwalker, which means you’ll be heading back and forth between locations in Vale Sangora rather often. This can get old pretty fast. However, once you’ve unlocked your first shrine at the very beginning of the game, you’ve already completed the first step towards making your treks shorter.

After speaking with Anca for the first time at her hut (assuming you stayed in the prologue area and didn’t wander off), you’ll run past your very first shrine. Once you’ve done so, you’ll notice both on your minimap and on the overworld map when you press the M button on your keyboard that a light blue shrine symbol now appears.

The light blue color means that it’s been unlocked, and you can travel to it from any other shrine you find throughout the game. Just walk up to the shrine and press the F button on your keyboard to open up its various options. You’re also able to upgrade your different skills when at a shrine.

Broken Shrines

Some of the shrines you’ll come across will be broken. These will require you to find their heart in order to make them usable again. To do that, focus by pressing and holding the right button on your mouse to see the path left behind by whoever (or whatever) took the shrine’s heart.

Once you’ve found the heart, which takes the shape of a small statue, you just need to return it to its rightful place. After that, the shrine will unlock for you to be able to travel to and from.

Personally, after unlocking Haste and Shapeshift, I made sure to visit every possible shrine that I could reach to ensure I had easy access to all areas of the map when I needed it. Considering some of these

Different Shrines

You’ll come across two shrines as you journey through Vale Sangora. There are those that are shaped like small chapels, with a small window for where the heart is to be placed. Other shrines look similar to boulders with runic writing atop them.

Both of them work the same way, and they both appear as the same icon on the map. So, I’d like to think that their difference is more in aesthetics than anything else.
