‘Talk Is Cheap’: Sen. Mike Lee’s Push to Impeach Judge Talwani Over Trump USPS Ballot Rulings Sparks Frustration That Congress Never Follows Through

Courts first, Congress next?

Sen. Mike Lee of Utah wants Congress to impeach Judge Indira Talwani after she blocked Trump’s USPS mail-in ballot order more than once, sending the fight back to the Supreme Court. On X, Lee put it bluntly: “Impeach Judge Talwani now!” People online are split; some agree, others say Congress talks a lot and never follows through.

🚨 JUST IN: Sen. Mike Lee says it's now time for Congress to IMPEACH activist Judge Indira Talwani, after she blocked President Trump's USPS mail-in ballot executive order MULTIPLE TIMES — forcing several SCOTUS appeals

LEE: "Impeach Judge Talwani—now!" 💯

IT'S TIME.

The clip is a short split-screen video. On the left, a woman sits at a Judiciary Committee table. On the right, Sen. Lee appears in a hearing room. The footage does not show Lee speaking, and it does not show any courtroom ruling. A label on the clip says it was “Animated with Grok.” The words tied to Lee come from the caption, which quotes him as saying, “Impeach Judge Talwani now!”

According to the post, Talwani blocked the mail-ballot order multiple times, and that led to several Supreme Court appeals. Court records and later news reports show she has issued more than one order against parts of the administration’s mail-voting plan. The Supreme Court has already stepped in at least once. As of this writing, Congress has not started impeachment.

Responses to the Impeachment Call

Some users backed immediate removal. One commenter wrote, “Just do it already, there have been over 300 activist judges illegally ruling against President Trump, and none have been impeached.”

Another said, “Get Rid Of Her!” A third argued the repeated blocks were “not judging” but “running the election from the bench.”

Others focused on Congress rather than the judge. One reply said Lee “does A LOT of TALKING” and that “Talk is CHEAP.” Another wrote that Republicans “would have to grow backbones,” while a commenter told Lee, “you post a lot about what should be done… we ‘the people’ want some action!”

A few people pushed back. One asked, “Impeach her for what, trying to make sure our Constitution is upheld?” Another said, “She’s not forcing appeals. Trump doesn’t understand no means no.”

The Supreme Court still has the mail-ballot case. Congress has not started any impeachment. Online, people are just arguing the same two things: did Talwani go too far, and will lawmakers do more than tweet about it?
