Fishing is generally seen as a laid-back hobby. You grab a rod, muster some patience, and hopefully land a good catch. But things went differently at one Florida waterfront complex. Here, two teenage boys were casting lines near the docks when an unexpected confrontation erupted with an elderly couple who didn’t welcome their presence.
This incident took place at Harbortown Apartments, a canal-front residential complex in Florida, featuring docks, boats, and multi-story buildings. A video captured the moment when an older man and woman walked up to the teenagers fishing and insisted they leave immediately. Things quickly got out of hand from that point.
Initially, user @that_fisherkaysen uploaded the footage to Instagram. Later, @Suzierizzo1 shared it on X, where it started gaining attention.
The video shows a man grabbing a fishing rod from one of the boys, seemingly attempting to take or damage it. He briefly pauses when the person filming mentions they’re about to leave. Yet, this doesn’t wrap things up. The man and woman keep urging the teens to “get out of here” as they begin packing their things.
While doing so, the man snatches their backpacks and hurls them toward a nearby garden area. Meanwhile, the woman keeps urging them on. Additionally, the man seemed to grab the arm of the person filming. The person reacted by saying, “Don’t grab me.”
As they were leaving, one of the teens questioned her about her problem. She replied that they were trespassing and said, “You don’t live here, honey.”
The boys had already left the dock by then. At that moment, the man picked up one of the bags again and threw it at them, hitting the boy who was recording. The teen mentioned he was a minor and that his action amounted to an assault, but the man said he didn’t care.
When the boy complained to the woman about being hit, she sarcastically said, “Oh, you poor baby,” while the man mocked him with fake crying gestures.

The video sparked plenty of debate online, with some commenters zeroing in on the couple’s behavior and political leanings. One commenter wrote, “I’m glad they got it filmed; we can guess who they voted for.” Another questioned whether incidents like this are actually becoming more common or just more visible, writing, “Are people really more insane, or is that everyone has a camera these days? Maybe these crazy people always existed; we just didn’t have the internet then.”
A third took a more pointed jab, saying, “This is what happens when you watch Fox News.”
Others focused on generational and racial dynamics in the clip. One user wrote, “These boomer types never fail to exhibit their obnoxious, insufferable natures. These were white kids they abused. You can tell their ire would be far worse if they weren’t.” Another commenter suggested a simpler resolution was available, writing, “My God, can’t he just tell him no fishing?
