A Louisiana creator walked up to her local Dollar Tree expecting the usual glass doors, and instead found a plain white residential front door in their place. The swap had commenters cracking up over the store’s new look, while others questioned what it was actually supposed to fix.
Posted to TikTok by @h3llok1ttysb1tchh, the video shows the Dollar Tree’s unusual new entrance. An exterior door now sits in the middle of a wall covered completely in plywood. The on-screen text explains the reason for the unique setup, saying the Louisiana store “keeps getting crashed into” and now has a “house door” instead.
The creator then steps inside, where the setup gets even stranger. The store’s merchandise and checkout counters have been pushed far back from the entrance, leaving a huge open space between the new door and the rest of the store.
Apparently This Keeps Happening
Many viewers brought up how normal cars crashing into stores has become in their part of the country. “Why is this a problem in our town too? Like why is everyone always crashing into the windows at the dollar store,” one recalled. Another said their own store’s side door was never even repaired, just boarded up after a similar crash.
Others couldn’t get past the visual hilarity of a retail property looking so residential. “That Dollar Tree isn’t a house, it’s a home,” one commenter joked. Someone else asked if that officially made it a “tree house.”

Not everyone found it funny, though.
