A new bride in Ohio shared a video alleging that a mobile bartending business scammed her and more than 60 other brides out of nearly $40,000.
The bride, named Alyssa, posted a video on TikTok to warn other brides about what happened to her. “My wedding was last Friday and one of my worst nightmares happened,” she said at the beginning of the video. She explained that earlier this year, as she and her partner began preparing for their wedding, they found their vendors through a Facebook group. One of the vendors they chose was a mobile bartending business that was allegedly called Sip of Eden.
Alyssa said the business owner had good reviews and seemed friendly when they communicated. She also liked that the service was affordable because she was a stay-at-home mom in a one-income household. In addition to bartending services, the business also offered a photo booth setup. These factors ultimately convinced Alyssa to hire her.
After Alyssa booked the woman, she received an invoice by email and the couple paid it immediately. The bride and the business owner remained in contact throughout the year. However, the first signs of trouble appeared one week before the wedding. Alyssa said she messaged the bartender to make sure everything was still on track and to check on the supplies she was supposed to provide.
In response to the bride’s message, the bartender allegedly replied, “OMG your wedding is this month already?” with a laughing emoji. “I should have taken that immediately as a red sign,” Alyssa said.

When the bartender finally texted Alyssa back, she told her that she had mixed up the wedding date. She then said she would ask her sister to go to the wedding and fill in for her. However, Alyssa did not receive any further response, and no one showed up to provide the bartending services.
Alyssa later texted the bartender at the end of the night and demanded a refund. The bartender allegedly apologized and said that she would “love” to send one. The devastated bride later texted the bartender again to ask about her refund, only for the woman to say that she had been dealing with her father’s funeral. “This all started becoming fishy to me,” Alyssa said. The situation prompted her to look up Sip of Eden and do more research into the business. She then found another bride in Michigan who had also hired Sip of Eden and claimed that the exact same thing had happened to her.
As Alyssa continued researching, she alleged that the bartender had done the same thing to more than 60 brides. Some of these brides reportedly said that the bartender canceled on the day of their weddings or the night before. Alyssa also claimed that the bartender had used several different excuses when communicating with brides.
Alyssa alleged that some of the excuses included the bartender claiming that she had cancer, had been involved in an accident, or that her father had died. She also claimed that she found a post suggesting the bartender’s father had already died two years earlier. She further alleged that the bartender sometimes booked four or five weddings on the same day, only to allegedly not show up, respond to the couples, or issue refunds.
All of this information led Alyssa to file a dispute, through which she was able to get her money back. She also posted on Facebook to warn other brides about the situation, and her post went viral. Alyssa then alleged that the bartender was a scammer who had scammed around 60 brides out of nearly $40,000.
After Alyssa shared her experience, the bartender allegedly contacted her. She claimed that she would take her to court if Alyssa did not remove the post containing “false information.” “I’ve not once posted false information,” Alyssa said. She then added that she would not forgive the bartender and hoped her business would shut down. It remains unclear whether the bartender plans to take legal action as she claimed.
