An Ohio woman recently went viral after she revealed the rather unusual motivational message she gives herself whenever life gets tough. The self-proclaimed leftist, who goes by @gabbymckenzi on TikTok, shared the short pep talk in a video with a caption that read, “Don’t let Trump outlive you.”
The clip has since exploded online, racking up more than 4 million views and over 1 million likes. Plenty of viewers found her reasoning hilarious and surprisingly motivating as well, though many others couldn’t understand why the United States president would factor into her motivation at all.
While sitting in her car, looking like she had spent some time crying, the woman revealed that she was going through a tough situation. She said that to cope, she had started repeating a mantra to herself.
“I just keep on telling myself, I cannot let Donald Trump outlive me. I can’t let Trump outlive me. We’re gonna stay right here, baby. We’re gonna keep pushing,” the woman said. She then called the president “old” and “ugly” before going back to reassuring herself again, saying, “We’re gonna be okay.”
Her Message Resonated with Viewers
As unconventional as her pep talk might sound, it apparently landed at just the right time for some viewers. The comments under her post were filled with people saying they were going through difficult periods of their own and had suddenly found another reason to keep pushing.
“Baby! You just gave me some strength!!! Thank you!” one person wrote. Another commented, “I never heard a better motivational speech.” Someone else said, “I can’t explain how much you just saved my life frfr. [It’s] been hard but I refuse to die before that orange Cheeto.” Another added, “Absolutely I agree with you. I’m 40 years old. I’m going through triple negative stage two breast cancer. He definitely will not outlive me.”
Some also brought up how they had already lost loved ones and were angry that they didn’t get to see them outlive the president.
“Girl he outlived my mom and I’m so pissed!!!” one commenter shared. Another said, “My brother died 3 weeks ago and when I collected myself my first thought was no way Trump outlived my brother bro.”
Others Don’t Understand the Trump Fixation
At the same time, however, the viral message also drew criticism from viewers who questioned why someone would allow a political figure to occupy that much space in their thoughts.
“Just focus on what’s positive in your life instead of putting energy on what’s negative in your life,” one comment read. Another advised, “No one could be this idiotic. Live your life baby! No one impacts you more than you let them.”
One critic questioned, “How do we have such a mental health issue in this country? She honestly thinks the worst thing in her life is the president that’s trying to secure our country…. wild times.” Another added, “If this is your daily thought & what drives/ inspires you to keep going i mean this wholeheartedly, SEEK HELP!”
Trump turned 80 on June 14. His age and health have continued to attract attention, although his most recent publicly released annual physical in May described him as being in “excellent health.” The examination noted mild swelling in his lower legs and benign bruising on his hands.
Trump was previously diagnosed with chronic venous insufficiency, a condition affecting blood flow in the veins of the legs. At the time the diagnosis was disclosed, the White House said testing found no evidence of more serious conditions such as deep vein thrombosis or arterial disease.
