One of the most frustrating things we can experience as drivers is getting stuck somewhere that makes us late. While some delays are unexpected, others happen like clockwork and somehow never become any less annoying. One example happens every day at 9 A.M. in Miami, Florida, when the Brickell Bridge opens. Apparently, the timing leaves many drivers stranded and has become a regular headache for those trying to cross the bridge.
One Reddit user recently shared a post titled: “The Brickell Bridge opening at 9 am is insane,” which, believe it or not, caught the attention of many in Miami. According to the Reddit user, the opening of the Brickell Bridge at 9 a.m. is the worst of all.
The Reddit user described that most days, between 9:00 a.m. and 9:20 a.m., which is when the bridge opens, almost 200 cars stop there to wait for the whole thing to end. Naturally, this has caused a lot of issues for drivers, as it makes people arrive late to work or home and adds more chaos to Miami traffic.
Ironically, many on the Miami Reddit saw this as a normal occurrence. Since this is a situation that has been going on for several years, it isn’t a surprise for many. Yet, that doesn’t mean people agree with how hectic crossing the bridge gets.
Even if some have already suggested a few ways to avoid the Brickell Bridge chaos, the majority just believe that this is a city staple, and one that everyone has to live with.
Florida Residents Think the Brickell Bridge Traffic is Normal
While most opinions in the Reddit post sympathized with the OP, many saw it as normal in the city and urged the Redditor to get used to it.
“Welcome to Miami.”
“You must be new here.”
A few others just gave up already and have talked about the other options they have when it comes to commuting.
“Always take the I-95. Taking the bridge is a coin toss.“
Despite having other options to get around the city, some are still adamant about crossing the Brickell Bridge. Still, it seems that doing so at 9 a.m. might not be the best idea, so many advise looking for another option and avoiding the bridge at all costs.
