A black woman in Virginia has sparked concern and outrage online after sharing a disturbing account of how she was allegedly accosted by two white men who chased her with firearms and threatened to lynch her during a night out with a friend. The woman shared her story in a two-part TikTok series this week, describing the experience as “uncomfortable” and “just diabolical.”
Netizens reacting to her story have expressed horror over what she described and are urging her to seek justice immediately.
The TikToker, whose account is @user223423144, said the incident happened while she and her friend Madison were out partying one night. According to her, they had been moving between parties after some gatherings were shut down, before landing at a location where most of the attendees were white.
The TikToker said that barely a few minutes after they arrived, she started hearing people at the party repeatedly shouting a racist slur against black people. “I start hearing the N-word with a hard ‘er’ like they yelling it for fun,” the woman claimed. “I started to get uncomfortable.”
She said she spoke up about their behavior. But that only seemed to antagonize them. According to her, two white men approached her and admitted they were the ones shouting the racial slur, and an argument followed.
Woman Claims Men Threatened to Hang Her From a Tree
The woman claimed that while they were arguing, one of the men suddenly announced that he was tired of going back and forth with them and wanted to retrieve something.
Both men allegedly walked to the trunk of a vehicle and returned carrying what she described as large firearms. The woman said she bolted immediately as the men pursued her, shouting racial slurs and telling her to keep running.
She made it to the vehicle she had arrived in and tried to get inside, but said the person who was supposed to unlock the doors didn’t let her in. “I’m asking like ‘can you unlock the door?’ He’s like ‘oh yeah’ and then he didn’t unlock it,” the woman recalled.
She said she eventually threw a bottle at the window before managing to get into the car. The men allegedly pursuing her also reached the vehicle and tried opening its doors.
“I’m in the passenger seat and they’re trying to unlock the driver’s seat door,” the woman recalled. “I’m going back and forth clicking the little lock unlock button.”
After a short struggle to keep them from getting inside, one of the men later managed to open the driver’s door. The TikToker said her heart dropped because she feared they were about to shoot her.
Fortunately, that didn’t happen. Instead, she said the men began making disturbing remarks. She claimed one of them asked whether she would fight a group of girls if he brought them over. He allegedly suggested taking her to his house to fight them there, but she refused.
She also alleged that they told her she needed to get used to racism and questioned whether anyone would come to rescue her because she was black. But according to her, the threat that frightened her most came when one of the men allegedly pointed toward a nearby tree and said, “We’re gonna hang you up on that tree over there and no one is gonna come help you.”
The woman said the men finally left her alone, and she managed to leave the party before anyone physically harmed her.
In one of her videos, the TikToker included what she claimed was a Snapchat profile belonging to one of the men involved. She also said she recognized one of the men as the boyfriend of someone she used to be friends with, though she did not specify whether he was the one whose Snapchat profile she shared.
Viewers Urged Her to Report the Alleged Threats
The woman’s allegations against the individuals have not been independently verified, but her account has left many viewers on TikTok horrified. Several expressed concern about what could have happened if the confrontation had escalated further.
“The struggle of being a black WOMAN in america is unreal. im so sorry sis, ts will never be acceptable [sic],” one comment read. Another said, “This is so sick and terrifying… People are cruel and I hope he gets what he deserves.”
“How are those ppl still free. this not okay, it seems like them being racist is okay which is not okay [sic],” a third viewer questioned. “Im glad you are safe! Its horrible this stuff is STILL happening and thank you for being strong enough to make this video and spread awareness. We need to make racists scared again,” a fourth commented.
Some left heated comments criticizing white people in general. “Stop hanging w white ppl y’all they’re ALL racist,” one person claimed. Another wrote, “Black people are not safe in white spaces. This coulda been another Nolan wells case. We gotta stick with our own.”
Others urged her to take the matter to the authorities and pursue legal action against the alleged perpetrators. “These people are dangerous. They will do this to another one of us. And you need justice. Take all the evidence you have you need to report this,” one netizen advised. “Press charges and build up documentation,” another added, while someone else suggested, “Send this to the police and the news get justice.”
The woman addressed these suggestions about taking legal action against the men in a follow-up video. She said she had seriously considered it but feared she lacked enough evidence to support her allegations.
One major problem, according to her, was that she only knew the identity of one of the two men involved. She said she couldn’t remember exactly what the other man looked like, although she believed she would recognize him if she saw him again.
She worried that not having enough evidence could make pursuing her case difficult. However, she said she has not completely ruled out taking legal action and is looking to gather more evidence before proceeding.
