A New Jersey driver began using racist language toward a black man after being confronted for taking his parking spot.
TikTok user @thegirliesloveme shared a video of the situation after it was already underway. The footage appeared to show the aftermath of an incident in which the driver allegedly used racist language toward him. Alongside the video, he wrote in the caption, “A grown man takes my spot, then starts throwing racial slurs at me because of the color of my skin. You really can’t make this [expletive] up.”
The video began with the TikTok user standing outside the driver’s car and filming him. He questioned why the driver was no longer using racist language now that he was being recorded, referring to the alleged slurs he had used before filming began. The driver then allegedly resumed his racist remarks, telling the man, “[expletive] black [expletive] piece of [expletive].” He then added, “Your skin color is brown as [expletive].”
After the driver used the racist language, the man challenged him to get out of his car, calling him a coward for making such remarks while remaining inside the vehicle. The driver appeared to be shaking as the confrontation continued. “Yeah I can. I can, and I’m proud of it. Damn proud of it,” he then said.
“Get out of the car, boss. Get out of the car. Let’s just get this over with,” the man said as he continued filming the driver, seemingly challenging him to a fight. The driver refused to get out, saying he would remain inside the car and make the man wait. In response, the man pointed out that the driver was the one sitting inside the vehicle and accused him of being scared. “Scared of this black man,” he said.
The TikTok user then claimed that the driver had grown up being afraid of black people. “I’ma show you what that mouth get you,” he said. He continued challenging the driver to get out of the car and accused him of having the “arrogance of a white man” before adding, “Show me you are the dominant gene.”
As the man moved closer to the car while continuing to film, the driver began hitting the window with his arm, seemingly in an attempt to intimidate him. The man continued challenging him to get out of the car and face him. “I’m not scared boss. You are just punching your own glass. Punch it harder so it could break,” he said.
The man then moved forward to further challenge the driver, causing him to jump in his seat and hit the window again. As the confrontation continued, the driver called him “[expletive] idiot.” The man responded, “Say your name for the people, stupid.” The video ended with the driver arguing that his name was smart. Toward the end of the clip, the man appeared to spit at the car window before walking away while cursing at the driver.
Alongside the video, the man wrote in the caption, “What’s crazy is, it didn’t even make me mad— it was actually comical. Imagine being so bothered by another man’s skin color that racism is all you can fall back on. That tells me everything I need to know.” It remains unclear whether the confrontation continued after the video ended.
