A black man in California was labeled racist online after being filmed harassing a disabled Hispanic woman over a parking spot.
The man was allegedly the owner of a company called Gold Mobility Scooters. He reportedly parked his truck and began unloading the scooters inside, blocking a handicap parking space in the process. This prevented the woman from parking there and led to a confrontation between the two.
In the video, the woman began filming the man as he repeatedly called her an “illegal alien.” She responded by explaining that she was born in America, but the man continued mocking her, saying, “Yeah. Yeah. Sure you are.” The woman then reiterated that she was legally in the country.
As the confrontation continued, the woman filmed the information displayed on the company truck, prompting the man to claim that he was the owner rather than an employee. In the next part of the video, the woman emphasized that she was disabled and told him to read the sign at the front. The man responded by mocking her, saying, “It’s definitely mental” twice. The video ended with the woman telling him, “You have a good day, sir.” It remains unclear whether the confrontation continued after the recording ended.
Under California law, the man could face a parking citation and a fine if authorities determine that he unlawfully blocked a designated disabled parking space. However, the outcome would depend on the circumstances, including whether his truck was legally stopped for loading or unloading. The video alone does not establish whether a parking violation occurred.
Viewers Slam California Black Man Over Racist Language
Many viewers criticized the California man over the language he used toward the disabled Hispanic woman. “I am truly fed up with these bigots. Respecting the rights of people with disabilities is not an act of charity it is a matter of basic dignity to which everyone is entitled,” one person wrote. Another commenter called for the man to be held accountable, saying, “identify him and provide the info to the media, his employers, and the local police dept. not in this order.”
More viewers expressed anger over the confrontation, with one person writing, “This is sick. So racist. What the [expletive]????” Another commenter claimed that the man was an employee rather than the company’s owner and had been fired following the incident. “The Google one star reviews are rolling in. Turns out the guy was an employee, not the owner. Fired. They mostly rent scooters to visitors visiting Disneyland. Gold Mobility Scooters of Anaheim,” they wrote.
The confrontation prompted criticism of the racist language the man used, with viewers arguing that a disagreement over parking did not justify targeting the woman’s background. Others stressed that disabled parking spaces must remain accessible to those who need them and that people with disabilities deserve to be treated with respect, regardless of the circumstances.
