A Texas woman sparked online outrage after filming a child walking on their hands and feet with a tail attached to them.
The woman was inside a grocery store when she filmed the unusual scene. Her video showed a young child walking on all fours, wearing black furry boots and a tail attached to the back of their pants. The child also appeared to be wearing ears, leading some viewers to believe they were dressed as a furry.
The rest of the video showed the child continuing to walk on all fours as an older woman walked beside them. Some viewers assumed the woman was the child’s mother, although this was not confirmed. She appeared unfazed by the child’s outfit and behavior, while the woman filming seemed irritated by the scene. “Mind you I’m already irritated I gotta find sum to cook,” she wrote over the video. She also added in the caption, “mmcht my momma woulda dragged me by 2 front teeth off that flo so quick.”
The woman later shared another video explaining why the scene had upset her. She said she did not care if the child wanted to identify as a donkey or any other animal. Instead, she was concerned that the child was walking on a dirty grocery store floor where dozens of people walked every day. “The whole point is to teach them to be better,” she added. She also wrote over the video, “there’s a time and a place.” The woman argued that her point came down to common sense and basic human decency.
Viewers Outraged Over Video of Texas Child
Many viewers expressed outrage after watching the video of the Texas child walking on all fours while wearing a tail and other animal-like accessories. Some argued that children should not be encouraged to behave this way. “Glad I bullied my sister out of this,” one person wrote. Another commented, “sometimes being urself ISNT okay.” Someone else added, “Children shouldn’t be walking on 4s with a tail on gross public floors. This is a parenting issue.”
Others shared how their mothers would have reacted if they had behaved similarly as children. “My momma would’ve split my skull in half and bit my brain to see what I was thinking ??” one person wrote. Some viewers also argued that people who behave this way in public should expect to be judged. “That’s the type of stuff you purposefully stare at and say ‘[expletive]’ out loud cuz nah they need to KNOW they are being judged,” another commenter said.
The incident divided viewers over whether the child’s behavior was harmless self-expression or something their parent should have addressed. While some criticized the child’s actions in a grocery store, others questioned whether public judgment was justified and how much freedom children should have to explore their interests.
