A woman is being mocked online after sharing a video of herself breaking down in tears over the public execution of Virginia terrorist Nidal Hasan.
Nidal Malik Hasan is a former U.S. Army psychiatrist who killed 13 people and injured 32 others in a 2009 mass shooting at Fort Hood, Texas. He was convicted of 13 counts of premeditated murder and 32 counts of attempted premeditated murder in 2013 and sentenced to death. The Trump administration has approved his execution by firing squad, which is scheduled for December 3, 2026, at Fort Hood. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth has also confirmed plans to livestream the execution, making it publicly viewable in an unusual move in modern U.S. history.
Following the news of the planned public execution, the woman shared a video in which she appeared to break down in tears. She began emotionally saying, “They wanna livestream an execution.” She then argued that livestreaming an execution was something only “terrorist regimes” would do.
The woman continued to appear emotional as she said, “They wanna leave the ICC, criminalize the ICC. That’s something that only terrorist regimes do.” She then became more upset while discussing ICE, claiming, “They are killing people in the streets. They are raping women and children at concentration camps.”
The woman continued crying as she claimed that “they” wanted to take away people’s money and public lands. Although she did not explicitly name who she meant, some viewers assumed she was referring to the Trump administration. She ended the video by asking, “Do you get it yet? Do you understand yet? America what the [expletive]?”
The woman was not alone in criticizing the planned public execution, as the decision to livestream Hasan’s death has also drawn mixed reactions online. While some support his execution because of the severity of his crimes, others have questioned the ethics of broadcasting it publicly and turning it into a spectacle. The controversy has also become part of broader criticism of the Trump administration and its policies, reflected in the woman’s emotional response to the announcement.
Viewers Mock Woman Over Reaction to Virginia Terrorist’s Execution
The woman’s emotional reaction to the planned public execution of the Virginia terrorist drew mockery online. Some viewers also accused her of overreacting. “Performing for TikTok and not one tear,” one person wrote. Another defended the planned execution by referencing other public acts of violence, commenting, “They celebrated when Charlie Kirk was assassinated in public. They were perfectly fine when they tried to assassinate President Trump on live TV in front of the world! Now they cry bc a terrorist is being executed publicly bc he killed 37 of our American soldiers. The left is sick!”
Other viewers continued criticizing the woman’s emotional response, with some arguing that the planned execution was a matter of justice. “They can cry and tantrum all they want. The rest of us are pushing for justice,” one person wrote. Another criticized her reaction and liberals more broadly, commenting, “What an over dramatic [expletive] with these liberals… it’s really sickening, the way they carry on…”
The planned livestream has prompted discussion about the ethical implications of publicly broadcasting an execution. This is even when the person being executed was convicted of a mass shooting. Viewers also disagreed over whether expressing distress about the decision was justified. This reflected differing views on justice, punishment, and the public display of state-sanctioned violence.
