Minnesota Lt. Gov. Peggy Flanagan accused President Donald Trump’s administration of corruption while criticizing Republican Senate opponent Michele Tafoya. She also called for greater accountability in Washington and a stronger focus on working families. Her remarks drew backlash on X from critics citing fraud scandals during Gov. Tim Walz’s administration in Minnesota.
In the video, Flanagan declared, “The grift absolutely has to stop.” She criticized Republicans, including Tafoya, for failing to speak out about what she considered corruption under Trump. She described his administration as “the most corrupt administration we have ever seen.”
She then called for representatives in Washington, D.C., who would hold the administration accountable. Those officials, she argued, should prioritize working families struggling to afford their lives. Instead, she accused Trump and his “billionaire besties” of making money “hand over fist” while cutting SNAP and Medicaid.
Peggy Flanagan Faces Fraud Backlash Over Trump Corruption Claims
The remarks drew sharp responses on X, with users challenging Flanagan’s credibility and demanding answers about government accountability.
“You put us on the map for fraud,” one user wrote. Another questioned her role in Minnesota’s government, stating, “You had a seat at the table every step of the way and did nothing to stop the billions fraud.”
Others demanded evidence for her accusations against Trump. “Peggy: Please list all of the grift YOU believe Trump has committed. Show us YOUR proof that crimes have been committed,” one response read. Another questioned her repeated criticism of the president, asking, “Do you post about anything other than President Trump? Just asking.”
Her remarks about federal assistance programs also drew objections. “Trump did not cut SNAP or Medicaid. Neither did Congress,” a separate user claimed.
The criticism also extended to her Senate campaign. “Imagine Tim Walz’s number one calling anybody corrupt. She is a joke. Michelle Tafoya has my vote,” another wrote.
The dispute leaves lingering questions about Flanagan’s oversight responsibilities, while concerns over federal changes to SNAP and Medicaid continue to weigh on Minnesota families. With both issues drawing scrutiny, the political back-and-forth shows little sign of slowing down.
