A man in Atlanta, Georgia, woke up to find his car broken into. Mortified, he saw the damage, but he also realized he wasn’t the only one. According to him, a total of 47 cars were burglarized in his building, raising serious security questions and taking away any sense of ease.
Chase Keller shared the unexpected robbery on TikTok. He is a book content creator who often shares book reviews, hauls, and recommendations. The clip quickly went viral, even though it strayed from his usual content. It garnered 388,200 views, 51,600 likes, and close to 700 comments.
The Georgia man began his vlog by saying he had just woken up to the news that someone had broken into his car. He was set to check out the “damage,” but first popped in a banana. His major concern? His Kindle and a copy of Matt Dinniman’s The Dungeon Anarchist’s Cookbook. Chase is a booktoker after all.
However, he soon found out he wasn’t the only victim of a break-in. Soon, he noticed multiple cars with broken windows and labeled the incident a “mass break-in.” In his video description, he said 47 cars had suffered the same fate. He added, “So much for the security!“
Fortunately for Chase, his items were intact. He found his book and his Kindle, all unrobbed. His class ring, though, was nowhere to be found.
“They don’t even know,” Chase said. “They don’t even know what they could have had their hands on. In all reality, it looks like my class ring is gone. What do you do? What do you do? Genuinely.”
The Georgia man ended his clip by giving the robbery a score of 4 out of 10.
Reactions
Chase’s clip sparked many responses, especially from viewers genuinely shocked by how he handled such a serious situation. One said, “I need to know what prescription and dosage of anti-anxiety meds you’re on. I need this energy.” Another one added, “Love that you stopped for a naner first.”
Other viewers, most likely his followers, understood Chase’s bookish concerns. One wrote, “Love the priority of the Kindle and the book. Sorry for the damage though.” Another one added, “I also would have had a full-blown panic attack if my Kindle was in the car.“
No suspects have been identified, and the news of the massive break-in has not yet been reported.
