The Mayoral Races are heating up almost everywhere, but the one in Los Angeles, California, made it to the front pages today. Recently, there was a poll to ask locals about what they thought of the city’s direction, but it mainly focused on how Mayor Karen Bass was acting as the city’s mayor. According to the polls, many disapprove of how she’s handling things, and voters who saw this information are celebrating, as they think it is time for a change.
The New York Post article, which found its way to the Los Angeles subreddit, shows different polls focused on California’s largest city: Los Angeles, mainly in what people think about its direction.
The first poll, which you can see in the above article, asked people if the city is on the right track or headed in the wrong direction. 17.4% voted “Don’t know,” 16.4% voted “Right Direction,” and a shocking 66.2% voted “Wrong Direction.”
Then, the next poll focused on Bass vs. Raman, and in terms of unfavorability, Bass is at 70.3%, which is a lot for someone running for Mayor, while Raman’s public opinion is quite favorable, with 45.4% thinking she might be the right choice.
As you can see from the polls, a lot of locals are against Mayor Karen Bass right now, believing that Raman should be the one taking the city’s lead. Besides that, many are actually celebrating on Reddit, as they don’t seem happy with how Bass has been steering the city.
California Voters Agree With the Poll Results
According to the comments in the Reddit post, many people were expecting these results, and now that they are out, they are celebrating in a way, as many believe a change in the city is long overdue.
“Her time is up.“
“Karen Bass is a perfect example of everything that is wrong with the Democratic Party today. I’m sure the party will learn nothing from her loss.“
Still, many don’t think the polls really matter. Instead, they believe everyone should vote if they want to make a change.
“Great poll, but polls aren’t results. Don’t quit now, run through the finish line.“
“Polls are meaningless. Go vote.“
And while many do think that the polls won’t matter in the end, the majority of Redditors seem to be leaning more toward Raman, who, at the time of writing, seems to be in the lead in this race.
