Former Georgia Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene is drawing backlash after posting an open letter to Democrats on X following their midterm election victory. In the post, she urged the party to focus on issues including ending foreign wars, lowering living costs, reducing government corruption, and cutting healthcare expenses, while warning against a return to earlier priorities. Online users reacted to the letter, with many former allies accusing her of betrayal and blaming her for the Democrats’ gains.
In the post, Greene addressed Democrats directly after their midterm gains on November 3, 2026. She wrote that the results came with help from an America First coalition focused on four issues: ending foreign wars, including those involving Iran, and funding for Israel; reducing the cost of living and fuel; ending government corruption; and lowering healthcare and insurance costs. She stated that these matched earlier Republican promises that, in her view, were not delivered, and she cautioned against a return to issues she said voters had rejected in 2024.
Greene described herself in the letter as a lifelong conservative who had opposed Trump and Republicans after what she called a betrayal of campaign commitments. She noted that voters had not permanently joined the Democratic Party and argued that both parties should prioritize results on everyday costs and governance. The post does not include video or additional claims beyond the text of the letter.

Another said, “Hi, I’m a leftist, and I agree with you.” One user wrote, “Damm, this was so well stated,” while another replied, “I surprisingly agree with you. So weird.” A further commenter added, “So well said!!! Thank you!”
For now, the open letter has prompted discussion among users across political lines. Online comments continue to center on whether Democrats will prioritize the issues Greene listed or whether the message marks a lasting shift in her approach.
