Capcom just confirmed its plans to make a Mega Man live-action movie! According to pcgamer.com, The Mega Man movie will be written and directed by Henry Joost and Ariel Schulman. The film will be produced by Chernin Entertainment and Masi Oka.
Masi Oka portrayed Hiro in the series about normal people with superpowers called, Heroes. Mega Man games have been out for more than three decades now and Capcom is hoping to have a diverse audience for the film. They plan to not only attract fans of the games but fans of action movies as well.
Overall, Capcom’s goal is to immerse its audience in a world where Mega Man games and the film world of production can meet. Capcom wants this movie to treat viewers with just as much entertainment value as a big Hollywood movie.
Timing wise, this announcement was impeccable because of the recent release of the newest Mega Man game, Mega Man 11. Mega Man 11 lets players take on the evil creations of Dr. Willy while adding some nostalgia effect as well. Mostly because Mega Man 10 released all the way back on March 1st, 2010.
Mega Man 11 is available to play on PC, Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and the Nintendo Switch. It is currently receiving reviews on the positive side. Stay tuned for a Mega Man 11 review from us sometime this month.
Another Capcom powerhouse is also getting the big screen treatment. Monster Hunter is set to have a movie that is said to tell the story of two young heroes who come from different worlds. They ban together to defeat an evil, powerful and deadly creatures that are native to the land.
This is very similar to the Monster Hunter game as well. Unfortunately, no official release dates have been announced.
