The Titanfall series had an interesting trajectory, for certain. The first game disappointed many. The second game, despite being largely considered to be superior, underperformed. This was mostly due to timing. The game came out alongside much more popular series, Battlefield, and Call of Duty. That decision by EA obviously hurt sales. But despite this, the game was well-received enough to warrant further attention. It received regular updates to its online mode and maintained a solid player base. It also did so without garnering nearly the level of controversy that other recent EA games have, such as Star Wars: Battlefront II and Mass Effect Andromeda.

Titanfall

The game’s developer, Respawn Entertainment, was acquired by EA in 2017. As of E3, earlier this year, the developer revealed the name of its new Star Wars game, Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order. But that aside, few details exist. But it was also revealed that a third Titanfall game is on the way. At this point, it’s just a question of when. Well, thanks to some prepared remarks from EA, there may be a time frame on these projects and others. According to the statement, EA has a number of projects underway across numerous studios, including Respawn Entertainment, slated for Holiday, 2019.

Titanfall

At the moment, the only known projects from Respawn include the aforementioned Star Wars and Titanfall games, as well as an unnamed VR title. The new Star Wars game has many wondering what, exactly, it would entail. And it isn’t the only Star Wars game in development. Titanfall is in a similar situation. The game still gets semi-regular support and updates. But what could a third installment bring? Well, for starters, a new campaign. One of the things praised about Titanfall 2 was its single-player story mode. But the multiplayer experience can always get more features.
