If you’re looking forward to Battlefield V, then you’re in luck. DICE has released a deep dive trailer, showcasing eight new maps that will be featured in the game. All eight will be available for the game’s multiplayer modes from the game’s launch on November 8th, 2018.
The maps cover a diverse range of countries and environments. The list of maps are as follows:
- Hamada, North Africa
- Aerodrome, North Africa
- Twisted Steel, France
- Arras, France
- Rotterdam, Holland
- Devastation, Holland
- Narvik, Norway
- Fjell 652, Norway
- Panzerstorm, Belgium
Each of the maps caters to different playstyles. Take a look at Hamada, North Africa for one example. The map’s wide-open nature makes it perfect for vehicular combat. The Battlefield V trailer shows players commandeering tanks and trying to blow each other to smithereens. Meanwhile, one daring player takes the action on-foot and blows apart one of the tanks with a bazooka…
Maps such as Rotterdam, Holland and Arras, France, meanwhile, show us the use of tanks through more restrictive town areas while showing off the player’s ability to utilize sniper spots. In Arras, France, we can see a player use the rather cliché tower for their sniper position but their deceit is no match for the tank. Upon discovering their hiding spot, the tank mercilessly blows up the tower – and presumably the poor fellow inside it.
This is interesting because it shows us the kind of tactics that players can use to gain the advantage over their opponents in Battlefield V. While snipers are effective at picking off human enemies, they aren’t so great at taking out huge artillery like tanks. Then again, as mentioned earlier, a good bazooka can easily put an end to the tank problem. It’s the manner in which the game could potentially force you to think strategically that makes it all the more exciting.
Well, that and the fact Battlefield V looks gorgeous. Death, chaos and outright destruction have really never looked so visually appealing, even when multiple warplanes are shooting the ground where fleshy troops are running for their lives.
Battlefield V releases November 8th, 2018 for PS4, Xbox One, and Microsoft Windows.
