You only get one shot, do not miss your chance to blow. This opportunity comes once in a lifetime. Or so says Eminem. On the 11th of January Capcom will be saying the same thing with the release of a demo for the upcoming Resident Evil 2.
Available to download on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and Steam from the 11th of January to the 31st Capcom really are giving us only one shot at this opportunity, and they’re restricting that shot to a 30-minute time frame.
During the demo, we will have the opportunity to control Leon through the now gorgeous looking Raccoon City Police Station. Thank you RE engine. The demo is said to be similar to the ones Capcom has already showed off at events such as E3 and should give us all a good feel for the game.
Death won’t matter during the demo, Leon can die as much as needed and players can restart over and over. Until half an hour has elapsed. After that, the demo will become unplayable. It’s not called a one-shot for no reason. At the end of the 30 minutes, a new trailer exclusive trailer will be unlocked, which can be watched over and over.
The original Resident Evil 2 is my favorite game in the series as well as being one of my favorite games of all time, it’s in my top 5. So, for me, the opportunity to play the re-imagining is one I relish, albeit with a sense of trepidation. Only being able to play the new demo for 30 minutes is a great way to allow players to experience the game and leave us wanting for more. Jokes’ on Capcom though, I can play it across multiple accounts and on both platforms. 1-0 to me.
Resident Evil 2 releases on January 25th on Xbox One, PS4, and PC. Whilst I am nervous to play it I am beyond excited. What do you guys think?
