“Release the Snyder Cut!” you will often hear Justice League movie fans protest online.

Well, it’s been quite some time since the theatrical version’s release and nothing has happened yet. But fortunately, Zack Snyder himself, who directed the super-flick, shared some revealing info on what his version would be like. He did so in response to a fan’s question at the ArtCenter College of Design in Pasadena where he was doing a Q&A.

Firstly, Synder explained that the graphic dream sequences from Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice would play a huge part in his version. These “Knightmare” sequences, as he calls them, were actually premonitions of the distant future. In this future, Superman has succumbed to the Anti-Life equation (a mathematical equation that convinces people life, hope and freedom are all pointless) and Darkseid has taken over the Earth. The Man of Steel blames his former Justice League comrade for the death of Lois Lane, which explains his animosity towards the Bat in the BvS Knightmares.

Meanwhile, the remaining members of the Justice League try to contact past Bruce from BvS via ‘time jumps’. This explains The Flash’s mysterious message to Bruce in the movie where he warns Bruce ‘Lois Lane is the key’.

But alas, Lois meets an unfortunate fate. Darkseid himself makes a time jump to kill the intrepid reporter.

Dark, no? It certainly sounds more in line with the tone of BvS. However, Snyder explained that executives were taking on board fan reactions to the previous film and thus, Justice League is what it is today. A far lighter and tighter superhero romp – which didn’t do well critically or commercially.

May 2017, Snyder stepped down from his directing duties during the film’s post-production due to his daughter sadly passing away.  Buffy creator Joss Whedon filled in for Justice League during this time and, in July 2017, Warner Bros. put $25 million into two months’ worth of reshoots in London and Los Angeles. This has left fans wondering what the movie might’ve looked like before said reshoots. Now, we have an answer.

In another highlight, Snyder went on to rant about fans who complained about Batman killing in BvS, joking that they should “wake the f**k up!”

Do you think this story sounds better than the one in the finished product? Or didn’t you think Justice League was as bad as people said? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below!
