The Eras Tour Dominates Streaming
The film is considered a “cinematic rendering” of Swift’s Era’s Tour concert, which itself compiles all the best decades of her music, right through the ages from the early days of country to the modern-day pop rock and folk. Swift’s discography was compiled into 10 acts (“eras”) to depict some of her most successful and memorable performances since she began her career in 2004 at the age of 14.
According to FlixPatrol, Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour still sits at the number one spot on the Disney Plus Top Ten list of several countries, including the U.S. and the U.K. In every Top Ten list across the globe, it never drops below 4th place, having retained 1st place in the majority of countries for several consecutive weeks.
On December 13, 2023, to celebrate her 34th birthday, Swift released an extended version of the film featuring performances of “Wildest Dreams,” “The Archer,” and “Long Live.” A longer edit of the film—titled Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour (Taylor’s Version)—akin to a director’s cut, included performances of “Cardigan” and four surprise songs, namely “I Can See You,” “Maroon,” “Death By A Thousand Cut,”, and “You Are In Love.”
As Variety reported, Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour garnered 4.6 million views in its first three days on Disney Plus, breaking the record for the most-viewed music film in platform history.
