A new video game is being worked on at Warner Bros Discovery based on The Batman movie starring Robert Pattinson, according to a report from Puck News. The report also claims that Warner Bros wanted to sell its Interactive Entertainment video game division for $4 billion, but after some efforts, it was considered far too “valuable to unload.”

When David Zaslav became the CEO, he was apparently advised to let go of the Warner Bros games division, but he felt it had strategic importance. The different parts of WB are now working together more closely than before, pointing at properties like the Penguin HBO show and The Batman game based on the movie, both of which stem from The Batman movie from 2022.

RockSteady’s Batman Arkham series really knocked it out of the insane asylum with its revolutionary combat and stealth mechanics. The last entry in the series was the genre-defining Batman Arkham Knight which came out in 2015. Since then, we haven’t seen a new addition to the Arkham series other than the VR game Batman Arkham Shadows, which was announced in May.

The team was hard at work on Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, which turned out to be the biggest flop of the year and has resulted in WB games reconsidering how games should be done. Since the year before Suicide Squad, the company saw remarkable success with Hogwarts Legacy, which was the best-selling game of the year.

The Batman movie will continue with a sequel that is currently in development, and the Robert Pattinson Batman suit was added to Batman Arkham Knight last year. This could have been an addition to encourage fans to watch the movie or a hint of future things to come.
