It has been revealed that the Generation VI Steel/Ghost-type Pokemon, Aegislash, will be added as the next playable character to Pokemon Unite come February 11, 2022 12:00 AM UTC. The official Pokemon Unite Twitter page released a video showcasing this ghostly Pokemon’s abilities and moves. It is unknown if it will be part of the current Pokemon Unite Battle Pass, but it was confirmed that it would be an All-Rounder alongside Charizard, Dragonite, Garchomp, Lucario, Machamp, and Tsareena.

Aegislash will be the latest new character to be added to Pokemon Unite, following the addition of the Ghost/Grass Trevenant, which also debuted in Generation VI. With the addition of Aegislash, this makes the current roster in Pokemon Unite consist of Greedent, Sylveon, Mamoswine, Blastoise, Blissey, Gardevoir, Zeraora, Pikachu, Charizard, Snorlax, Crustyle, Greninja, Eldegoss, Talonflame, Lucario, Venusaur, Mr. Mine, Slowbro, Absol, Machamp, Wigglytuff, Alolan Ninetails, Cramorant, Gengar, Carchomp, and Cinderace, and Decidueye, Tsarenna, Dragonite, and Treveant. A total of 31 playable characters.

Aegislash was likely previously headed in a recent leak for Pokémon Unite, revealing the current Battle Pass, New Sheriff in Town. In addition to the regular rewards players earn through battling, the new Pokémon Unite Battle Pass lets them access new log-in bonuses and Wild West-themed rewards, including Trainer fashion items and Pokémon Holowear. It is unknown at this time if Aegislash will be receiving any themed Holowear as part of this Battle Pass.

The first phase of log-in bonuses will run from January 31 to February 13, during which players can collect silver badges and exchange them for different items. Western-themed Holowear for Machamp is also available as a special reward for collecting 500 silver badges. In the second phase, which will run from February 28 to March 14, players can collect gold badges, and western-themed Trainer fashion items will be available as a special reward for collecting 500 of these.
