To build a balanced formation that will steamroll opponents in all stages of AFK Journey, players must dominate the game’s principles, which go from the roles of the heroes and their strengths to which factions have an edge in set matchups. But did you know that having a full grasp of how its Faction Bonus mechanic works is also just as vital? Here’s a full overview of how the Faction Bonus mechanic works in AFK Journey, as well as all of its effects.
Faction Bonus in AFK Journey, Explained
The Faction Bonus system in AFK Journey works similarly to the Elemental Resonance mechanic featured in Genshin Impact and will offer different ATK and HP buffs to your party depending on how many heroes from the same faction are deployed. Different effects will be triggered if you have 3, 4, or 5 characters from the same faction in your party, as well as if you deploy two heroes from one faction and three from another onto the field.
You can check the Faction Bonus buff you will get by using each of the mentioned hero/faction combinations below:
- Three Heroes of the Same Faction: You will get a 10% increase in both HP% and ATK%.
- Three Heroes From One Faction and Two From Another: You will get a 14% increase in both HP% and ATK%.
- Four Heroes of the Same Faction: Will offer an 18% increase in HP% and ATK%.
- Five Heroes of the Same Faction: Your team will get a 22% HP% and ATK% increase.
Among all of the hero types, all Celestial and Hypogean heroes will count as jokers and be able to add to the count of any faction among Mauler, Wilder, Graveborn, and Lightbearer. They will also each provide an independent 1% ATK and HP boost for the whole party if on the field. The only Celestial heroes in the game right now are Dionel and Scarlita, while Reinier and Berial are the only Hypogeans.
