The Nike movie directed by Ben Affleck, Air, has set a theatrical release date before it sprints over to Amazon Prime Video. The film hits theaters on April 5, but no word is how long it will be on the big screen before exiting to be exclusive to Amazon’s streaming platform.
The film will follow a partnership between the shoe company and a rookie Michael Jordan. Air will star Ben Affleck (who directs) as co-founder of the company Phil Knight, Matt Damon as executive Sonny Vaccaro, Jason Bateman as executive Rob Strasser, Chris Messina as sports agent David Falk, Matthew Maher as executive Peter Moore, Marlon Wayans as former coach George Raveling, Chris Tucker as writer Howard White, Viola Davis as Michael Jordan’s mother, Deloris; Gustaf Skarsgård as businessman Horst Dassler, and Julius Tennon as the former basketball player’s father, James R. Jordan Sr.
Air marks the first film under the studio founded by Ben Affleck and Matt Damon, Artists Equity. They worked on the script with writer Alex Convery, who is making his screenwriting debut with the star-studded film. The two stars produced with David Ellison, Jesse Sisgold, Jon Weinbach, Madison Ainley, Jeff Robinov, Peter Guber, and Jason Michael Berman. The film was executive produced by Dana Goldberg, Don Granger, Kevin Halloran, Michael Joe, Drew Vinton, John Graham, Peter E. Strauss, and Jordan Moldo.

Live By Night was the last project directed by the Oscar-winning filmmaker. In his career, he won two Oscars for Argo (Best Picture) and for the writing of Good Will Hunting. The sports business film will be on top of other directing jobs with Keeper of the Lost Cities and Witness for the Prosecution.
As Ben Affleck is getting ready for Air to release in theaters, we are missing some essential information. The biggest is that the film has not given a trailer for the world to get a glimpse at what to expect. The other is that there is no date for when it hits Prime Video.
