Alabama Barker is the latest celebrity to join the Ozempic train. The daughter of Travis Barker proudly defended her decision to use weight loss medication despite just turning 18. The teenager believes the unflattering way the media projected her played a role.
The internet personality made the revelation while doing her makeup on a Live session with fans. It is unsure on what platform Alabama confessed, but a fan shared a Tiktok clip of the interaction. While glamming up, the 18-year-old said, “I have like this thing where I photograph so ugly, and people are like, ‘Oh my God – you’re so fat, and you’re so ugly.’ And it’s like, I see what you guys are seeing, but just like, meet me in person.”
The daughter of Barker and his ex, Shanna Moakler, explained that she doesn’t believe she looks unattractive in person. However, that didn’t stop her from taking action to remedy the general notion about her physique.
“But I’m on weight-loss medication because I’m tired of being fat and photographing like a damn ogre.”
Alabama didn’t specify which particular weight loss drug she is using or for how long she has been on it. However, her confession sheds light on fans’ recent plastic surgery remarks. In April, the Meet the Barkers alum had to slam reports of getting work done in an Instagram Story post. “I’ve had no cosmetic surgery done to my body!! Let’s stop assuming, not saying I never would, but just not in this moment have I had anything done,” she wrote in the caption. The teen star has, however, spoken about getting only lip fillers.
Is Alabama Barker Following In Her Mother’s Footsteps?
Alabama’s revelation about her weight loss method comes just a month after her mother admitted to using Mounjaro. Moakler, in an interview, revealed the pain of her parents’ deaths and media scrutiny forced her to overeat.
“I was in a very, very dark place. I stopped dieting. I stopped exercising. I just ate like s—. I was so devastated, and I missed my f—ing mom and dad.”
Moakler noted that the added pressure of paparazzi asking about Travis and Kourtney Kardashian worsened things. “It was on another level, and I didn’t know how to deal,” she explained. However, on her journey to return to normal, the former Miss New York USA turned to the FDA-approved drug for Diabetes Type 2.
