A woman in Alabama posted an emotional video asking for advice after repeated issues with her neighbor’s dog. In the video, she explained through tears that the dog has been coming onto her property and killing her chickens.
According to her, the chickens often roam outside the fence in front of her house but remain near the porch area. She said she would understand if the dog attacked them in the woods or farther from the home, but claimed that instead, the dog has been coming directly onto her property and up toward her porch. The situation has left her distressed and unsure of what to do next.
The woman said the situation has been ongoing, claiming the neighbor’s dog has attacked her chickens five or six times already. According to her, the neighbor has not taken steps to prevent it from happening again and instead told her to secure her chickens better. The neighbor also reportedly said she “can’t keep buying chains,” which left the woman frustrated. “My chickens can’t keep dying,” she tearfully said.
She added that the neighbor argued the dog had been living there longer than they had, something the woman felt did not justify the repeated incidents. Because she believed no action was being taken, she warned the neighbor that her husband would have to shoot the dog if it came onto their property again. “She just kept saying as if the dog had more rights than me,” the woman said.
In a later video, she shared footage that she said showed the dog attacking one of her chickens. In the clip, she could be seen running toward the commotion after hearing distress sounds, only to find the neighbor’s dog on her property. The incident also raised concerns for her own four dogs, as she feared a potential fight could break out.
The woman stated that the attacks have been happening since 2023. She said the neighbor had previously compensated her for some of the chickens that were lost, but the incidents continued. After speaking with a police officer, she said she was advised that she could press charges if it happened again. For now, she hopes that her warning will prevent further attacks.
People Reacting to the Alabama Woman’s Videos
Many viewers expressed sympathy for the Alabama woman and encouraged her to take steps to protect her animals. “Tell her if it happened again, you’re gonna use your legal right to defend your livestock,” one person wrote.
Another commenter shared a similar approach, saying, “We gave our neighbors a notice that each chicken is worth $100 their dog has never come back.”
Some offered preventative suggestions. “My mom got a Great Pyrenees to protect her livestock. She hasn’t had any issues of her animals being attacked since getting him,” one person commented.
Others warned that the situation could continue if not addressed. “That dog now sees your property as a feeding station. It won’t stop,” someone wrote.
The responses showed strong support for the woman, with many urging her to take protective or legal action.
Additional commenters continued offering advice based on their own experiences. One TikTok user wrote, “I had an issue like this. And started just taking the dog to the humane society and turning him in as a stray every time he showed up. They had to pay increasingly higher fees to bail him out. Took about 3x but then they got the message and kept him locked up from then on.”
Others raised concerns about potential escalation. “First it’s chickens, then it will target your tinier dogs, and then your kids. That dog is untrained and aggressive, he is attacking your live stock, and it could attack you or your kids next. File a police report. This CANNOT keep happening it is unacceptable,” one person advised.
The overall reaction reflected strong concern for the woman’s safety and that of her animals, with many urging her to take formal or preventative action.
