College can be quite chaotic, especially with the pressure that comes with it. So it’s normal that you are bound to forget about one or two things. Whether they are small or big things, you can still forget about them. An Alabama woman went through this experience of forgetting important things as she left her laptop in class in college. In any other scenario, you would expect that the laptop would be stolen in mere seconds. Luckily for the Alabama woman, this didn’t happen this time as the opposite thing happened. People made sure to point out how lucky she was.

In the video posted on TikTok, the student shows herself in shock while she is at university. The reason behind her shock is that she forgot to take her laptop from a class and came back not expecting to find it. However, when she entered the class again, she found the laptop still charging in the same place as she left it. She wrote on top of the video, “I accidentally forgot about my computer during my 11 am lecture it was still there when I went back at 3:45. Shout out to everyone at The University of Alabama for not robbing me.”

People Reacting to the Alabama Woman’s Video

People in the comments started a debate on whether college students would leave stuff that isn’t theirs or not. One person wrote, “college kids have an unspoken honor system.” This comment had a lot of replies to it including one that said, “absolutely not.” The person who wrote the original comment insisted on their opinion as they wrote, “at least my college does, they [sic] only thing that’s been stolen a lot is bird scooters.” The first replier wrote once again, saying, “you’re very fortunate.”

Other comments said that laptops usually don’t get stolen in college. “Laptops will not be stolen but if you lose a water bottle or jacket consider it gone forever,” one person wrote. Laptops aren’t the only things that aren’t stolen. Another person wrote, “My cartier bracelet was literally turned in to lost and found at University of Miami’s gym and I had a brief spark of hope for humanity lol.”

One TikTok user also pointed out to the Alabama woman that with college students being broke, they know not to mess with someone’s laptop. “Dude taking a computer is a [sic] unspoken law. We all broke we know that’s your whole life on that laptop.” The whole conversation about college students having an honor system kept going. Another person wrote, “No bc the college campus honor system is actually crazy. Like we all just leave out laptops laying [sic] around at the library and no one bothers them.” While colleges might have an honor system, the Alabama woman is still lucky that her laptop didn’t get stolen. If it was my university, that laptop would have been gone forever.
